Meet Joey

Dear Friends, Family and Fans...

Starting today, I will begin donating a portion of my sale profits to a 4 year old little boy named Joey. My sister is a teacher and Joey is one of her students who has recently been diagnosed with leukemia.

His story hits close to home for me, since I myself, have a 4 year old child.

In addition to giving a portion of my profits from sales, I will also be auctioning off some items to help raise money to go towards his medical expenses.

If there is an item you would like (including ready 2 ship AND custom creations) please let me know and I can get a listing set up for you.

MEET JOEY

Joey is a 4 year old boy from the Wichita, Ks area who has recently been diagnosed with leukemia. Here is Joey's story from his mom Angie.

On Sept 23, Joey was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He spent 9 days in the hospital pediatric unit where they surgically input a central line into his chest and started the chemo treatments. He now gets his treatments on an out-patient basis and has been allowed to attend his daycare as long as he is well enough, but he isn't able to do many other things due to his very low immune system. He will be receiving treatment for the next 2 1/2 years but the outlook is very hopeful.

Joey is really into super heros, like Superman and Spiderman, and Mario Brothers right now. Anything that is red is a favorite. He spends a lot of time these days playing his new DSi that he was given while in the hospital (which is why he loves Mario Brothers). He has an older sister, Katherine, who turns 8 this weekend.

Hello Blog!

Holy Moly.... I am HORRIBLE about updating this thing!

Ryleigh's Room has primarily moved to facebook. We still have the etsy store - but since I have been so busy working on craft shows and such its kind of been neglected!
Facebook gets updated (at least once) on a weekly basis.

There you can see the latest creations and tons of things that are NOT on our etsy page yet as well as GIVEAWAYS! And who doesn't like free things?

I promise when things wind down Ryleigh's Room on etsy will be fully stocked again! There will be lots of ready to ship items (which means NO wait time!) and also our design your own creations (which will have a short turn around time)

I have a few items shipped off to Hawaii and Florida for photoshoots - so those pictures will be up soon!

Dear Blog, I'm sorry...

Oh my goodness - I have been so busy being a mommy to 2 crazy little girls, working on new items for Ryleigh's Room and taking summer courses at a local college that I have neglected my poor ol' blog!

Check out my chunky Bug! she is 5 months old now and an absolute joy. And her big sister Ryleigh is pretty great too! I am amazed with how much they love each other - Ryleigh and Aubriana "talk" to each other all the time - they seem to have their own language... And Aubri thinks her big sister is just the greatest ever and is completely awestruck by the dog, Tator. LoL

I've been adding some new items, working on a ton of custom items and just promoting my shop - hoping to make this a full time venture someday ;)

I have also just finished my first photo-shoot for Ryleigh's Room with the help of awesome photographer, Melissa, at Moments Photography. I have to say these pictures turned out AWESOME - and we had so many cute little ones participate (Thanks parents!)

Crazy Days! and re-opening of Ryleigh's Room

Things have been crazy around here - adjusting to two kiddo's instead of one is quite the task! I have a pre-schooler who demands all attention be on her ALL the time and a new little princess who also demands lots of attention on her. We are finally getting the back into the swing of things and everything seems to be going smoothly.

Ryleigh is smitten with Aubriana - which is totally adorable and quite annoying at the same time - she LOVES to help but sometimes that 'help' turns into hindering. She loves to snuggle and kiss on her little sister - too cute for words.

Aubriana is now ONE month old and such a good baby (knock on wood) she eats and sleeps wonderfully. She is finally getting the hang of the sleeping during the night business and giving mommy a 3-4 hour breaks between feedings. :)

January 21st, 2010 at 11:42 am. Miss Aubriana Alese made her way into the world weighing a whopping 7lbs 10oz and measuring 20 inches long :)

We are recovering nicely and Ryleigh's Room will be re-opening sometime around March with a TON of new items!



Big sister Ryleigh is absolutely in love with new little sis Aubriana!
